According to Xu Bing, the number of overseas buyers attending the Canton Fair has resumed growth, and the turnover has initially stabilized. Buyers from the 120th Canton Fair registered 185,704 people from 213 countries (regions), an increase of 4.6% compared to the 2015 Autumn Fair (year-on-year, the same below).


The number of registered buyers from all continents in descending order is as follows: 104,783 people in Asia, accounting for 56.42%; 35,360 people in Europe, accounting for 19.04%; 26,192 people in the Americas, accounting for 14.11%; 13,764 people in Africa, 7.41%; Oceania 5,605 People, accounting for 3.02%.


Compared with the 118th Canton Fair, Asia grew by 4.22%, Europe by 6.53%, America by 10.91%, Africa by 6.32%, and Oceania by 0.11%.


Buyers from countries along the “Belt and Road” reported 81,604, an increase of 7.93%, accounting for 44% of the total.


The top 20 countries and regions with registrations accounted for 62.45% of the total registrations, which was basically the same as the same period last year. The top 10 countries and regions for registration are Hong Kong, China, the United States, India, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan.


In 2015, China's top ten trading partner countries and regions registered 63.31% of the total registrations, an increase of 1.53 percentage points. A total of 1,167 international chain enterprises registered, a decrease of 6.19%; the number of people was 2,471, a decrease of 6.33% year-on-year. Among the registered overseas buyers, electronics and home appliance buyers accounted for 40.3%, consumer goods buyers accounted for 30.9%, home decoration buyers accounted for 28.9%, gift buyers accounted for 27.5%, and machinery buyers accounted for 25.3%.


The number of registered attendees in this session increased by 4.6% year-on-year, and the main features are: the growth of emerging markets and developing countries is 8.37%, which is better than the overall average. The countries along the “Belt and Road” have increased by 7.93%, and ASEAN and SAARC have increased by a large margin. Among them, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other countries are the main growth sources; Russia increased by 9.56% and Iran increased by 21.53%. South America has experienced large recovery growth, with Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and other countries all increasing by more than 20%. Among developed economies, the European Union and Japan have seen significant growth, while the United States and Canada have also achieved growth.


Xu Bing said that this session of the Canton Fair actively connects with the 'One Belt, One Road' strategy, and guides enterprises to strengthen R & D, nurture brands, and build marketing networks to continuously promote the transformation of foreign trade development momentum and structural optimization and upgrading. Various trading groups and business associations have fully mobilized the enthusiasm of enterprises and vigorously promoted business transactions. The cumulative export turnover of this Canton Fair was RMB 187.301 billion (equivalent to US $ 27.89 billion), an increase of 3.2% compared with the 2015 Autumn Fair (year-on-year, the same below).


Mechanical and electrical commodities are still ranked first in the transaction. The turnover of mechanical and electrical commodities was US $ 15.10 billion, an increase of 1.8%, accounting for 54.1% of the total turnover; the turnover of light industrial products was US $ 7.22 billion, an increase of 2.9%, accounting for 25.8% of the total; the textile and apparel turnover was US $ 1.63 billion, an increase of 1.8%. The European Union, the BRIC countries and the United States are still the top three in terms of transactions, with USD 7.10 billion, USD 3.80 billion and USD 3.71 billion, up 5.6%, 11.5% and 14.7% respectively, accounting for 25.5% and 13.6% of the total turnover And 13.3%. Private enterprises are still the main force of the transaction. The turnover of private enterprises was US $ 18.65 billion, that of state-owned enterprises was US $ 3.76 billion, and that of foreign-invested enterprises was US $ 5.48 billion, with growth rates of 4.4%, -8.6%, and 8.6%, respectively, accounting for 66.9%, 13.5%, and 19.7%.


The sales in the brand exhibition area were good. The total turnover was 9.51 billion US dollars, an increase of 10.5%, accounting for 34.1% of the total turnover.


In the transaction orders, the proportion of short and medium orders is still high, and the proportion of long orders is still low. The proportion of short and medium orders within 6 months reached 81.6%, while the proportion of long orders was only 18.4%. Compared with the previous sessions, the purchase intention of buyers has increased, price sensitivity has decreased, and more attention is paid to product quality and service.


Xu Bing said that the 120th Canton Fair continued to innovate and change, and the role of a comprehensive functional platform was further revealed. In the new period, the Canton Fair has expanded new functions, from the on-site export transaction function to a comprehensive functional platform that promotes imports, meet customers, display negotiations, industry exchanges, information releases, and brand promotion. A total of 567 IPR complaint cases were accepted in this complaint reception station, 610 exhibitors were complained, and 331 companies were finally found to be suspected of infringement.
