PDC—a bridge connecting German design with Chinese manufacturing

The Federal Republic of Germany, referred to as Germany, is located in Berlin, the capital of Central Europe. With a population of about 81.1 million people, it is the most populous country in the European Union and a highly developed capitalist country. It is one of the four largest economies in Europe and its citizens have a very high standard of living.

The high-end manufacturing industry represented by automobiles and precision machine tools is an important symbol of German industry. Today, the German brands around us all represent high-end and taste: car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, bathroom brands such as GROHE, Hansgrohe, Duravit, home appliance brands such as Bosch, Siemens, Braun and so on. German design, like Made in Germany, signifies science, rigor, and even extremes and finickiness.

In order to allow more German designs to enter China, to connect and cooperate with Chinese manufacturers, especially exhibitors in the Canton Fair, on June 26th, the PDC Promotion Team (hereinafter referred to as the team) was in Frankfurt, Germany, with the German Industrial Designers Association Verband Deutscher Industrie Designer (hereinafter referred to as VDID) co-hosted a symposium and visited the German Design Council (hereinafter referred to as the German Design Council) to promote the Canton Fair and PDC to local government agencies, industry associations, and design companies.

Founded in 1959, VDID is an industry organization specifically set up for German industrial designers, providing support and assistance for designers to participate in industrial, political, and economic activities. At the symposium, the group first introduced the basic situation of the Canton Fair and PDC to the design company representatives, focusing on the activities such as design display, design forum, design docking, and fashion show provided by PDC. The Canton Fair held a Scandinavian design main event as an example. He recommended the necessity of holding a regional main design event to Mr. Andreas Schulze, the vice chairman of the VDID who attended the symposium, and Ms. Susane Stock, the representative of the Hessen Agentur, a Hessian trade promotion agency. , Welcome and encourage associations and state governments to lead the organization of designers from Hesse and even Germany to the Canton Fair. Mr. Schulze said that he had personally participated in other ordinary trade shows, but unfortunately he did not really get in touch with Chinese production enterprises. Through the introduction of the group, he was convinced by the strength of the Canton Fair and eagerly hoped to organize a delegation to join the Chinese production enterprises through PDC. The state government representative Ms. Stock said after the meeting that she would study the relevant policies as soon as possible, so as to facilitate the future German design team to go to the Canton Fair to connect with Chinese companies.

In addition, the group also visited the well-known 'German Design Award' German design award organizer, the German Design Committee, made a special promotion to Ms. Janine Wunder, the vice chairman of the agency, the two parties agreed that the two institutions are in the connection of design and upgrading of the industry Having common ground, the two sides can strengthen communication and exchanges in the future, and conduct more exchanges and cooperation in organizing the connection between German design resources and exhibitors in the Canton Fair and the exchange of design awards and mutual recognition of resources.
